Safe Haven Humane Society

Re-Home the Homeless Pets of Jo Daviess County and the Tri-State Area

Safe Haven is a county wide Humane Society supported entirely by community donations and dedicated volunteers. We place no time limit on the length of stay once a cat or dog has been accepted into our adoption program.

We believe that together we can make a difference in the lives of adoptable stray, unwanted, abused companion animals and the people who open their hearts and homes to them.

Featured Pet

Alexandra is beautiful.  She is an all white DSH (Domestic ShortHair) spayed female with beautiful eyes – one is bright gold and one is vividblue.  Very striking!

Alexandra is a very peaceful, quiet cat who faithfully uses her litter box at Safe Haven and gets along very well with theother cats and all of the people she has met.

Alexandra arrived at Safe Haven on7/15/13 as an owner give up.  Alexandra was born on a farm and had lived there for two years.  Since she is white, she is more susceptible to being caught by a predator (eagle, hawk, owl, coyote, fox, wolf, etc).  Outside farm living is not safe for Alexandra and she has adapted very well to living indoors at Safe Haven.
